What is this parallel port you speak of? I don't quite understand. However, since your Monte is a '97, mods are kind of hard to come by - performance wise that is. Do you have an LS or Z34? The place that does aftermarket parts for 3100/3.4 DOHC is milzymotorsports.com.

Do you want the car to have a body kit/lip kit? What are your plans with the car?

Hey skylark, and nitehawk! I'm planning on getting some pics up soon. I just got the car registered today. I got vanity plates, "SINFUL".

I'll take pics of everything later.

Welcome to the forum. I too have a 97 monte. Is yours an LS or Z34? The first mod you can do that alot of people do with their 5th gens is make a FWI (fender well intake). Its where you get rid of your air box and run a cone filter in the drivers side fender and run tubing from it back to the TB.

Not sure what you are talking about by parallel port, but if you describe it a little more we may be able to identify it.

Hey mrl390! Thanks for the tip. What kind of increase does the FWI bring in. It looks cool, and the air should be a tad colder, but unless it's far better performance than adding a K&N drop-in filter then I don't see much reason to do it. Is it really a worth while mod for the effort?

To answer a few overlooked questions, It's an 97 LS. Plans for the car, I don't know really what's available. I normally deal with my 97 Avenger. I've been working on making it forced induction via turbo. I've put most of my attention into smaller tasks of tuning, and turbos. Not really sure what I can do to the Monte. All recommendations to make her a little peppier would be invited. I'll probably swap out my stero equipmetn into her in the next couple of days. I'm NOT looking forward to that, lol... Too much work to think about.

I grabbed a new stereo for it today, and snapped a few pics. I also got a pic of the parallel port coming out of the underside of the passenger-side of the dashboard.

Ok that port looks like it isnt part of the car, or least that i havnt seen....And Thanks chirs for recommending me lol.

Dont give up ded there r alot of parts if u look hard enough.

A few cheap mods are to paint the wood trim, and remove the exterior door molding.

Here is a snap of my intake some view it as hot but i dont see any decrease in performance.

Side molding gone

And maybe u can get one of these?

LOL i kid about that one

Now to adresses them swirls u will need some compound and one of these

If u never used one i would highly recommend a professional doing it other wise ull burn the hell outta the paint.

Please ask more questions
