Hello everyone, I'm Karl. I am a 61 year old retired oil rig mechanic. I live in southern California in the land of milk and honey, HA!!! I say ha, because we are in the middle of a bad drought. I am a huge NASCAR fan and a follower of Hendrick's motor sports. Anyway, HOWDY YA ALL

Welcome Karl, out of curiousty what does an oil rig mechanic actually do/fix? Anything mechanics gets me excited.

as an oil rig mechanic I fix engines, but they don't go down very often. However there are transmissions,drop boxes, clutches, drive lines, rear-ends, (that's just to name a few), that can and do go south especially if you have 50 or more rigs. Stay pretty busy for 12 to 16 hours a day.
