Another new member intro
Well, my name is Tony. I live in Northern California. When I was 22 years old I was given my grandfathers '70 Monte SS. I had that car for 10 years and through out that time of ownership, I restored it to almost original condition.
Fast foward 10 years and my wife is pregnant with twins. I ended up selling the Monte and with the money from the sale, was able to I purchase my wife a mini van and myself a Honda. How cool is that!!! (sarcasm)!
Anyhow, fast foward another 10 years and I bought the car back (recently). I got it back with the interior trashed, the center console missing. Dents in all body panels and a rod knocking underneath the hood. I was amazed at how someone in the time span of 10 years could almost destroy such a nice vehicle.
So now the journey once again begins to bringing the car back to what it should be. In the mean time, the wife's minivan has given way to a 2007 Jeep Liberty and my Honda has been replaced with a four door 1996 Impala SS. I plan to sell the Impala to fund the restoration of the Monte. Wish me luck. RIP Grampa

Hello and Welcome to the MCF Tony!
Your story is not one that is heard to terribly often, getting back ones previous car, especially after ten years. From the sound of things had it not come back into your life it would be on it's way to getting crushed and melted down.
Wishing you the very best of luck of luck getting her back to it's former glory days!
Don't know if you know of this supplier, but they have quite the range of older Monte Carlo parts.
