Thanks for your reply well to be honest I couldn't tell you apart! I think its always fun trying out new cars when you get a rental but I always prefer my Monte to whatever I drive. I must admit though I drove a new Silverado Z71 1500 and was impressed with the power and comfort. I am hesitant to drop 37K on one though and give them my Monte for chicken feed. What year is your Monte?

I understand on the cost I looked at one that was almost 50K not to long ago.
If I was going to do that then I would get a Corvette for a few dollars more.

Funny thing I recall back in 1972 I ordered a new Chevelle SS and they had a new Corvette on the showroom floor for 5400.00 the Chevelle was only $4200.00

I have a 1999 Monte this used to be my Sales travel car, until 2006 when all the economy went south. So I kept it, I had a 96 Monte as well but that was my sons car, until he traded it for a Jeep.

My rentals were for months at a time.

The best one for mileage was a Volkswagen Jetta, it would get in the 40's. Loneliest job I ever had.

@drivernumber3 yeah cost on new cars and trucks is prohibitive unless you have a great salary and don't mind blowing lots of cash. My first car was a 1989 Z24 cavalier for $5400 bought in 1993 what I didn't know when I bought it was it had an accident which messed with the shift linkage. A few years later It decided it didn't want to shift out of 3rd fortunately car was so light I could drive 100 miles no problem in 3rd on the highway! 1999 was my first monte although mine was white and an LS 3.1 (lacking on HP!) definitely looks better in black Yours look great especially for the year. I borrowed a Jetta once for about a week and I thought the gas gauge was broken since it didn't move after 100 miles! Amazing efficiency on that car although I would never own one. I have been very lonely also driving cross country but whenever I stopped I would usually meet up with someone I could chat with.

@06MistreSS nice looking monte! I have had thoughts of dropping a V8 into my LS at times until the gas price starts climbing again what kind of mileage do you get? not that you bought an SS for efficiency I did check the blog out nasty looking storm on the lake can't believe the heat is all the way up there!
