Where I come from, it's all woods. Everyone has a deer story lol

The first and last days of deer hunting season are actually a holiday from work/school in my area due to the overpopulation.

It was way to dark to get out and look at the damage, so I just went home. Next day, not a lick of damage, but some hair and snot ALL the way down the side of my car. Washed it, and that was that.

My second deer same thing, out of nowhere at night, ran into the back fender on my driver's side this time. I stopped, the deer bolted and there was nothing on my car.

My third deer wasn't too long ago. and this one I ran right over. I stopped... there were no leaks or damage, and I drove straight to a car wash because it was gross.

IDK maybe I just have a super Monte :P

you must have that new deer-proof paint i've heard about

Whats up man. Welcome to the forum.

I know that some of the other members will chime in and say to drop in an L67
(supercharged 3800). I'd love to do that myself, but i just don't have the funds right.

The good thing is that you have a 97, with the OBDII, so that will help you in getting what ever swap you decide on.

There is someone that I know of who did the L67 engine and tranny swap in his 97 Monte Carlo. I don't know all the details of how much work was involved.

Welcome Dustin to the MCF family. Hope you get your Monte fixed up good. The swap is possible, but involved. Unless you are REAL mechanically inclined, I would advise against it.
