Hello Mike and Welcome to the forum! Happy to have you here guy. Our 6th Gen. Monte's are a dream to drive, I just snuck mine out today to get some groceries, cold air and my engine love each other.
You gave up a Vette for your Monte? Well you are a die hard motor head. Our generation of Monte's are unique, shaped like no others, well then you have the 7th gens. But they are riding in on our waves...

Thank you guys!!
I just read the responses to my first entry on the site. I really appreciate the warm welcome and am looking forward to your expertise on how to care for my '03. I'm already nervous about parking her anywhere!!
DON'T GO NEAR MY CAR!!!!
Sincerely,
Slightly paranoid SS owner

Know what you mean about being nervous. Some DA let his shopping cart get loose and hit my black '03 SS a couple weeks ago. Took everything in me to restrain myself.
Here's some tips on how to keep your Monte in top shape.

Also, considering the low mileage yet 12 year age, do the car a favor and change the trans. fluid and filter. It's a good bet that it's the original fluid and it's a good idea to change it every 30K. I like to use Mobile1 synthetic trans. fluid. The trans. is the weakest link on the car.

Agree with doing a trans filter and fluid change but don't flush it, just drop pan and change filter and then refill with new fluid.
Congrats on the new ride! I don't think I would of let go of the vette for it though lol
