Default It's mine!

After a months wait I now own a maroon 2000 monte carlo SS with 73k miles. the first thing I noticed was my DC outlet dosn't work. I think its a fuse or the first owner disconnected it when he hooked up the interior lights. they are cool but he had to drill hole for the lights and switches. So Ill check the fuses tomorrow. The second thing I noticed was a whining sound when I pressed on the accelerator. I think it just the power steering but im not sure. other then that its a great car and on my way back I passes 5 people and reached a 110mph while doing so. I was very amazed at how easily it gets up to a hundred. I have never had a car like this before. One more thing. when I opened the trunk I found a little metal box attached to the roof of the trunk. Is that factory? reminds me of an amp. just smaller. Thats what I think it is. If you want to see pics. Ill try to get some.
Pic should be on page 2.

Welcome to the forum, I believe that metal box is for Onstar. I'm pretty impressed with my 2003 SS, share some pics when you have a chance

I looked it up, the black box is for onstar. The radio amp is mounted between the rear speakers. This isn't about who is right or wrong, I just saw this by researching.
