There is no easy way to check the CV axle. But if it's clicking with the turning of the wheel, while turned left or right, that's what it is 99% of the time.

well ive been doing some research on the CV axle. And it seems like when they go out its a continuous popping the entire time turning. Mine just lets out one pop when turning and kicks back pretty bad.. but the kick is really random and once in a while. my car is a mess and hates me . Am i wrong in thinking that a bad cv would be more then one popping sound when turning.

What are the signs of faulty cv joint?
Signs of a faulty CV joint are CLICKS coming from the front of the vehicle while performing sharp turns. To really put this to the test, you should drive backwards in tight circles, if you hear any clicking you have a bad CV somewhere you should be able to tell which side of the car it is coming from. Try not to drive very far on a bad CV joint, because you could become stuck out in the middle of nowhere!

Welcome Megan

Yeah I am really worried about . I dont want things to really go wrong and be stuck. I am going to try to fix the headlights today and have the CV looked into also. can any one explain the stupid kick it gives when leaving a stop?
