Sounds like a great deal as long as everything is working as it should (particularly the transmission). Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your purchase!

the guy im going to get it from is 58 and the original owner, lives in a farming community so most the miles have been from country to town for stuff and back out to the country, a car that actually has mostly highway miles lol, i always have to laugh at alot of car listings, from like the st paul - minneapolis area EVERY car listed says "mostly highway miles"

When you get there, check all the fluids. Check the oil, and check the transmission dipsticks. Pop the cover off the overflow coolant tank and see if it's dirty inside.

Ask the last time the coolant was fully flushed.

Then start the car and let it warm up while he tells you about it. Ask him if you can be a little hard on the car during the test drive. When the car is warmed up, give a good redline run for a short distance, and then slow it down. This should get the transmission nice and warm, and then try to take off again, see if it slams you.

Transmission is the weak point. So is the Catalytic Converter.

After the test drive, and it's cooling off, talk about the car a little more. Pop the hood so it cools off a little faster, see if you can smell oil burning. Find out his washing habits, etc. Then check the oil again.

thanks for all the tips, I picked it up today, took it for a somewhat harsh test drive, no issues at all, I thought I had smelled some oil burning, but I had checked the oil before i took it out for the drive and dripped some on the manifold and it burned off, nothing was leaking, all fluids looked good, still going to change the oil after new years here, and I will probably be getting a coolant flush done seeing as it still has the factory type coolant in it which I dont personally care for. all and all I think i got a good buy, will be upping pics either over the weekend or monday, need to wash it up a bit on the outside, inside is very very clean almost like new still.
