Default I need help diagnosing an issue

Good evening everyone I have a 2007 Monte Carlo LT 3.5 I'm having a issue when I step on the gas the car acts as if it doesn't want to move but it will eventually move sometimes it struggles when going up a hill sometimes car will get up to 3,000 rpm before moving other times it will go with no issue at all I don't think it's the trans seeing as it has been rebuilt I currently go to school for automotive and have been asking some of the instructors and they think it could be air/fuel issue going on I was thinking stuck closed throttle body maybe even catalytic converter I don't know honestly any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated

Check these things.
1. Air Filter when was the last time it was changed?
2. Fuel Filter change it
3. Catalectic Converter could be bad or full this is the usual culprit
4. Check your Trans fluid level?

Trans fluid is full and normal color nothing concerning on the dipstick I do need a new intake air filter the car probably does need a new fuel filter seeing as its at 109,000 miles definitely going to look into a new cat converter Thank you

Sounds like a clogged catalytic converter. I dealt with one in my 03 Monte and I too thought it was a problem with the transmission. That thing would rev up high and struggle to shift until you took your foot off the accelerator, then it would engage and you could continue accelerating. Turned out to be a clogged cat.

It usually should throw a engine light, but not all the time. the best way is to un bolt the darn thing and see if it drives normal. it'll be loud, but will let you know right away if it's clogged.
