Hi Folks
Hi everyone
New guy here.
Just wanted to say hi to all. I spent some time looking around. There are so many nice rides members here have.
I've been a lurker for long time. As some of you may noticed I joined couple days ago and had been communicating with the other turbo mc owner .
Now to bore you all.......
A little info about myself and mct.
I had my 80 mct since '90. Back then it was just another car. Fast fwd '08... there are very few on the road in my neck of the woods. ( Maple Ontario Canada.)
I attend many cruise nights and head to the track couple times a year and only seen one other 3rd gen in 7 yrs. So you can imagine how excited I get when I see one especially if its a factory turbo'd one.
If you had checked out my car thats on my sig you may notice it looks kinda low performance. The only hint that something is odd is the intercooler scoop, dual exhaust and the bump on hood. I've always admired sleepers and wanted one.
My mc has been upgraded to a 87 lc2 stock inj,i/c,turbo ( buick turbo t, grand national v6) mild built 200r and 12 bolt rear. I get 25 mpg with a canoe on the roof, runs low 13's @ ~100 on pump - 1.8x 60' on regular 225 goodyear wingfoots, 1.7 60' on slicks. I hope to break into the 12's by year end as friends with same set up run that regularly with stock motors and race gas. I had been chasing a false knock issue but seems to be clear now after some adjustments to the downpipe. (The timing was pulled out by ecu at the 330' mark.)
I try and use the car as much as possible, I have used this car to go camping/fishing/canoeing trips, get groceries, pulled 23 foot prowler trailer for vacations, dragstrip, cruise nights, loaded with soil from garden center, pulled stuck 4wd pick ups, drive in movie theatres ... And... And....drove in the rain ....just to name a few fun moments.
I hope to find references for exterior parts ie trim for 3rd gens. They do not seem to be a popular car and as such little aftermarket attention. If any 3rd gen guys have found sources I'd really appreciate it. I have bought 3 wreaks ( including another turbo mc ) for parts but some items have to be wrapped and showroom shine.
Ok ... wake up
