Hey guys
Hey everyone on the MCF,
I'm only 17 and I just bought a 1979 monte carlo, I love it. I've always loved G-bodiesI don't know why, but there's something about them that just attracts me to them.Going off of the the top hit pole in the GF, looks like I'm one of only two guys here witha 3rd gen monte, but I'm sure there's more. I'm up in Canada on Vancouver Island, I love cars emmensly and everything about them. However I am purely domestic, I don't care at all for import cars. I might have been my family influence, but I love old cars of all types, and I like them original, not pimped out with the big chromies and stuff. That's just not me. But if anyone else here has got a 3rd gen. monte, reply I would love to know I'm not a loner. Thanks you guys, this is an awesome site!

well i have the 6th gen right now but i have owned i think last count was 6 or 7 of the 3rd gen . I used to braket race the 78 monte carlos and also had them as daily drivers tha ti would fix up till i wanted to start over again then i would buy another one and start over.
you not alone in the love for the montes of any year here.
Let me know if you need any help i will do my best to help you on it.
Congrats and good luck on your new car. i agree they look nice as astock car but they look nice with rims and stereo also LOL
Pimped or not they are just a neat looking car. no other has the same body lines.

RE: Hey guys
I think that's the same model year Denzel Washington drove in Training Day. Welcome to the Official Unofficial Monte Carlo Forum. We appreciate Monte Carlos of all years here. It's always nice to see a well rounded collection. Please post some more pics as soon as you can.

RE: Hey guys
the black monte had the smae body style as the 79 but it was actually a 78.
the only diffrence between the two cars as far as body gose is the tail lights. So it could have been a 79 but they had 78 tials lights in it.
Also mid 79 they started to use the quad headlights instead of the singels .
so some of the 79's look more liek the 80 but have a diffrent tail light in them
