Hi Tom from Winsted, CT,
and Welcome to the Monte Carlo Forum.
You are a lucky man to find the only year that Chevrolet
produced the Monte Carlo LTZ
Before we can tell you what Mod`s to do to your LTZ,
you have to
post some pictures of your LTZ
What color is it ? What options ?
How many miles are on it ?
We have several fortunate members to have the
Awesome Monte Carlo LTZ, and I am sure that they
will assist you with what mod`s are availiable for the 3.9L,
242 HP SuperBad V-6.
Look 4-ward to your future posts, and pictures : )
Use the MCF Search Engine to explore subjects of
interest. If you do not find, please post your questions.
Wish you many safe/happy/fun miles in your LTZ

RE: hey guys
The only mods that are out there for the 3.9 Monte is wheels & tires & Exhaust. The engine none to be had except for a turbo 5 Grand for it unless you have tons of money to have special parts made for it. the 3.9 is very limited for mod parts. You can also have the PCM re-flash for a few more HP but nothing you will feel to be awesome. Exterior you can use your own judgment on that, stripes, lights and whatever you think looks right 4 u. I do beleive I am about 99.9% on this.

RE: hey guys
Congrats on your new Monte LTZ. Very nice car. I haven't heard any real complaints from other LTZ owners.
The 3.9 engine isn't one of GM's most popular engines. There's nothing wrong with it, just not as popular yet. Unfortunately, that also means that mods for that engine are going to be pretty scarce.
It may help a little to widen your scope a little. When searching other sites for engine mods, maybetry using other GM models that use the same engine. I think the Pontiac G6uses the 3.9 in the GTP model. A few other GM models use the 3.9 also but can't remember which at the moment. But since the Monte only used the 3.9 for one year (2006), the aftermarket parts aimed specifically at the Monte Carlo LTZ are going to be pretty slim.
Cosmetic mods are plentiful since the body is the same as the 06 & 07 SS and LT. You may even get away with a using a few 2000-2005 exterior mod parts, since the unibody frame is the same from 2000-2007. But those wont be many because the bumpers, grill/headlights, and front fenders are different. The interior on your 06 is totally different from the 2000-2005, so theres no luck there.

RE: hey guys
There are many different exhaust systems available. All depends on your taste. How loud you like it and the tone of the sound.
I'd suggest checking out the exhaust section of the site. Read what others have said about theirs, and even post your questions/concerns.
