Welcome to the forum!

I haven't looked for 3.1 parts since I sold my 91 Cavalier Z24. Which might actually be helpful info. Two of the most popular cars that ran the 3.1 were the 1990-1994 Chevy Cavalier and Pontiac Sunbird.

The Cavalier Z24 had the 3.1, along with the RS model. The Sunbird GT and SE also had the 3.1 engine. So you may want to try doing a search using those models.

The 3.1 put out about 140 hp from the factory. If it was me, I would be asking myself how much performance do I expect from this engine. That engine is from an era in GM's history when they didn't care much about performance. They wanted fuel efficiency more than anything.

On top of that, I know many people who had a 3.1 engine block crack in the walls between cylinders. The walls were thin since it started out life as a 2.8 litre, and was bored out to 3.1

Welcome to the Forum. I'm very familiar with the 3800 and LS4, not so much with the 3.1L. There's always others here that could be of help.

3100's actually had 160 hp, at least in 5th gen MC's.

There aren't many performance mods you can do, honestly. You could gain 20 hp by swapping the 3100 top end with a 3400 top end. There was a guy that swapped for a 3400 and turbo'd it, and ran a 14 flat.

I was going to suggest a 3400 top swap
