Question HELP! 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo z34 broken shift button

My shift button came apart and now I have to stick a flat screw driver where the button was located to force down the lever inside to switch gears. If anyone can help me with a link to order the specific shift **** and how to properly replace it would help tremendously. Thank you!

That **** is T shaped and at the Front of the **** or the Dash Side of it there is a slot inside the slot is a Staple shaped clip that holds it on. You can remove it with a small flat blade screw driver just pry it out. You should be able to find one at a salvage yard that has a Monte Carlo in the 5th Gen group. I think I may have one if you can't find one where you are at. Pictures show the details of the console and shifter.

here are a couple of shots from the service manual that explain some of it. They don't give as much detail as I had hoped.
I am glad I was able to help.

from the service manual the shift button removal the shifter handle is different but it shows how to do what I explained earlier

shifter and console controls lights etc.
