Brings a fuzzy feeling to my heart when I see the completely stock black on black SS, been years and years since mine looked like that.

Beautiful car, can't wait to see what you plan for it

Welcome to the forum!

Your new-to-you Monte looks like it's in really nice shape. I like the rims you chose in your first post. The black headlights always look good on a black car.

I don't like the rims you chose because they are the wrong bolt pattern.

5x114.3 ≠ 5x115

I did notice the difference in bolt pattern. But I meant to ask you about that Mike. Does the 0.7mm really make that much of a difference? That's the thickness of a mechanical pencil lead. Just wondering.

Because it's the wrong bolt pattern. If there was no difference, companies wouldn't make both sizes. It's not like one is SAE and the other is Metric, they are different.

Some people get lucky by running the wrong bolt pattern, but others don't. And I refuse to tell anyone that it is okay, when they could be driving fast on a highway and have bolts snap because the rims are wrong.

Loosing a wheel at 70 MPH, specially a front one, due to bolts breaking off isn't fun. It happened to me while driving a 79 firebird on I-95, the elevated section right before the airport, in Philly. I didn't loose control and killed myself, and a bunch of other people, because the car was low to the ground and the planets were aligned with Orion. Talk about fun!

Hey Possum! Those mats are actually the dealer freebie mats. The dealer is Classic Chevrolet in Pittsburgh, PA.
