Hello and welcome! The oil pan removal is a pretty straight forward process. 1. Drain the oil. 2. Remove the oil level sensor. 3. Remove the oil pan bolts. 4. Remove the oil pan. 5. Remove the oil pan gasket. 6. Clean the oil pan mating surface. 7. Clean the oil pan. Remove all the sludge and the oil deposits. 8. Inspect the threads for the oil level sensor and the engine oil drain plug. 9. Inspect the oil pan for dents or distortion. 10. Repair or replace the oil pan as necessary. 11. Apply a continuous bead 6.35 mm (0.25 in) thick of RTV sealer GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148) to the topside of the new gasket. Apply the RTV sealant directly over the gaskets sealing bead. 12. Install the NEW oil pan gasket onto the engine. 13. Apply a continuous bead 6.35 mm (0.25 in) thick of RTV sealer GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148) to the bottom side of the new gasket. Apply the RTV sealant directly over the gaskets sealing bead. 14. Install the oil pan. 15. Clean the oil pan bolts of all debris. 16. Apply one drop of blue thread locking compound. 17. Install the oil pan bolts. Tighten the oil pan bolts to 14 N·m (125 lb in).18. Install the oil level sensor. Tighten the oil level sensor to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

I would recommend using a torque wrench to tighten the bolts. They can snap pretty easily from over-tightening. If you don't have one most parts stores like autozone can rent you one. Also welcome to the site and post pics when you can.

Did you get your oil pan gasket replaced, how long did it take? and did you have to drop the engine cradle? , asking cause i have to do mine its a 2003 SS, 3.8L
