Default Greetings from Seaside, California.

Hello, my name is Chris and im from the Monterey Bay Area. I have alwys been a muscle car person and finally have excess cash to buy an older 1974 from this junk yard in Watsonville. It barely started up but I saw it was a 400 small block and had an Edelbrock intake manifold and 4 barrel carburetor. The timing is clearly off and the engine has oil leaks everywhere, but old school cars are all bolt on and bolt off with no computers to stop me or smog laws So far, the hood is being replaced with one with no rust and the valve cover had a hole in it when it started. But it runs :P Their gonna move everything so I can test drive it and if the transmission doesn't slip, then I am buying it for sure. Wish me luck Gentlemen. I was also wondering what is a good sight for engine parts on this car?

Welcome! I live in South San Jose!

Good Luck with buying the 74!

I always just use Google for searching out parts. Type in the parts you need, and check out the websites that have them. Just look for the best price.

TY for the warm welcome guys. I am still trying to figure out this site. I will own a 400 small block and am looking for what type of transmission bolted up to it. Was it the TH-350 or the TH-400. I think its a 400 because of the size of the engine but it is also a small block and the TH-350's were also used on them.
