Default Greetings!

Hello, My name is Matt and I have had My 2002 Monte Carlo SS for about a year now. I bought her around last year, and just wanted to get some advice from you guys. I am very young, my teens to be exact, so I am not to familiar with cars. I am certainly no car guy like some of you may be but I really want to learn more. I want to start off by asking I have a 3800 series after the couple I bought it from had a crack in their 3400. The car mileage is 280k, but I believe the 3800 is around 175k. I want to do some upgrades on her but I dont want to throw my money away. Should I just wait until I get another Monte or is it still okay to do mods? Thank You all!

Welcome. There is a great thread here that talks about modding. It's called "general mod plan for 3800" or something close to that. Search for that and read up about what mods can be done for what power level etc. As far as modding the current high mileage engine that's your call. If it was taken care of etc then you probably could however I personally would not mod a engine very far unless under 100k miles. Now also keep in mind depending what your thinking for mods even if the current engine pops you may be able to pull the mods off and swap onto another engine as well.
