fuel pump problems

Default fuel pump problems

I hope someone can please help me I had my fuel pump go out on my 2002 montefor the second time but this time it will not start fuel pump is good hooked it directly to battery it whines but it is not getting enough power from the relay the relay is good only getting like 6 volts should be getting 12 i have checked everything checked the wires and i just dont know what to do if i take it to a mechanic he might take advantage of me being a girl every comment is so appreciated thank you

Welcome to our little part of the www
first off what is your battery voltage at. Second check the connections at the starter as well. Follow the positive wire coming from the battery and check all connections. You might want to check the ignition switch as well. Im not sure if the Monte has an oil/fuel pressure switch. If so and if the oil pressure is low this will also cut the voltage to the relay to shut the fuel pump off. Check connections at the computer as well since this will shut the fuel pump off too.....
