Thanks for all the welcomes. Its gonna be such a long winter!!! I won't park it all winter, but it won't come out when snow and salt are on the ground, either.

 

Bcuz those pace cars are sexy!!! Some day I hope to own one of each of the pacers & then one of each of the nascar edition montes & of course I'm gonna keep my beauty, pride & joy, all of the above

When I decided I wanted a Monte, I knew I wanted a 3.8. I preferred a 2000+ SS, but would have also considered a '98-'99 Z34. I wasn't sure what color I wanted. I've had a lot of black cars in the past, but never a blue one. I came across two Pace Cars in this area, first a red 2000 and then this blue 2003. Things didn't go so well dealing on the red one, but when I saw this blue I knew I would take it over the red if I had a choice. If deals on both Pace Cars fell through, I would have "settled" for a regular SS, because I didn't want to wait forever and there's not that many limited edition cars around here for what I wanted to pay. Of course I would have loved to have a Supercharged car, but that was more than I wanted to pay right now. I won't rule out a future top-end swap, however, now that I know what's involved. We'll see. I'm really enjoying the car as is, for now.

I'm kind of conflicted about how much I want to drive her. That's the one bad thing about picking up a Pace Car with 67,000 miles. I wouldn't have worried as much about racking up the miles on a regular SS. Oh well, we'll see... The last owner put about 22,000 on over 3 years.
