Welcome to the MCF family. Glad you're OK from the wreck. I've had both Furds n Chevies. Never had a 350 in all the cars I've owned. We have a 5.0L now, but IMO, the 350s n the furd 302s about comparable, with the 350 having the advantage of plentiful aftermarket parts. I agree with Bud, that 1 hp/ci is easily attained, but then again I'm putting out about 1.36 hp/ci from my 3.8L L67, and 2.86 hp/ci from our Ecotec 2.0L LNF. So by today's standards, 1 hp/ci is kinda puney. That's the great thing about boost and fuel injection, they are made for each other. And you can get 25-30mpg all day long. Look at the new Vettes. 30+mpg and 400 hp from the factory. No boost!
Anyway, enough rambling.
Welcome to the MCF forum, and I hope you find a nice 4th gen to drop that hot small block into.

so what are the advantages of the chevy 350 over the ford 302? im not sure if i agree tho on the more plentiful aftermarket for the chevy over the ford, foxbodies have huge aftermarkets as well, at least comparable to chevy, is there more potential for power with the 350? im still bouncin round the idea of buyin a ford 302 but i want to get both sides of the story, i would like facts not opinions guys i want reliable info so i can buy the right car for my current situation, i am 16 but i do know alot about cars, i saved up all my money to buy my dream car which was the stang only to have it destroyed a year and a half later but it was very easy to get the car to respond to modifications well, and was wondering how a chevy would compare, ive done top end rebuilds with my cus and freinds so i would say im good with cars, i want a reliable car that can run when it needs to run, thanks guys!
