There have been a few people who have swapped a 3400 into a 5th gen LS, including the first pic in this link: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/342615...e-carlo/page-6
That guy's name was "germ" and he ended up turbocharging his 3400 and ran a 14 flat @ 106mphish with a horrible 60' time. I believe there's someone planning on doing a 3900 swap in a 5th gen right now, but I haven't seen anything come from that yet (but would love to see it).
Our 5th gens are a lot of fun. I love them, and they're starting to become rare.

thank you i just wanted it to be quick, different, clean, and dependable. i did build it up before it went in its got some milzy motorsports parts stage 3 heads stage 2 cam new stiffer lifters 42.5 lb hr injectors their p&p intakes p&p exhaust manifolds egr block off and also full ecm custom re-tune MSD ignition (box too) not just packs wiring from the plates under the packs to the box is a f***ing nightmare... 8.8mm accel tailor made wires bosch iridium fusion plugs (only time bosch ever impressed me...) not sure what the CR is but i did have .020 milled off the heads i can hear the compression through the exhaust (2.5in. Magnaflow dualed out in rear) its gotta be atleast 10.5 anyways. and i did ring, bearing, and gasket the bottom end too i reused the pistons and rods too but the gineau motor only had 11,000 miles on it but ya never know i never got to hear it run but upon pull apart everything was exceptional. it runs hard & smooth accept idle it sounds like a built small block at idle
first tank i ran thru it (93 octane) it did 29mpg with a bit of leadfootin around too boot
im extremely impressed with it for no more money than was spent.
