3400 swaps are pretty common with members on other sites more so than here. Im not sure if there are many monte carlos with the swap, but other models that use the 3100 are a more common choice for the swap. Maybe less common lately since there has been a gain in popularity of the 3500 swap and hybrid motor builds.

i bought the car new in 99 it sat on the lot for almost 2 years it had minor hail damage on the hood from a close call with a tornado we had in 98 plus i bet everyone wanted Z34s or was awaiting the 2000 model year as well but it always caught my eye and when i was old enough to have a school permit i bought it (shoveled alota hog ***) but i paid cash upfront. i sold it to buy an all origional 72 chevy cheyenne fact. tach tilt & a/c and oak box floor just had to have it! and still do. but bout a year ago i started thinkin bout a monte like my highschool ride ya know i started lookin and behold it was the guy that bought mine. His wife drove it to work across town the whole time they had it it was a HUGE blast from the past it even has the factory battery in it and the factory tires on the factory (now winter) rims i bought it on the spot and started plotting so far its just been centerline 17s hood n paint to fix the origional hail damage LA1 swap heat wrapped ported manifolds & magnaflow exhaust & left the factory chrome strip off the hood and took the chrome insert outta the grill so its just red with chevy emblem ud have to just see it. tons of little stuff inside n out like a bit of a stereo n window tint n such it does have the origional trans 20,000 origional miles so ya know.... but i did do fluid n filter it also has new brake booster ceramic brakes cv axles inner n outer tie rod ends ball joints n cv axles fresh alighnment my cousin had all the front end parts for one he had and decided it wasnt worth the work (hes lazy) got all the brake and front end parts from him for $35 :p hes also a broke a** so he was more than willing to part with the car and all new parts so i had spare stuff theres more but id be typin all day. id like to post a few pix for you guys but i cant figure out how.
