Default Creative ways to hide rust

I am the proud owner of a 2000 and 2 Monte Carlo SS pace car Edition. I haven't on this car for too long but have done a lot to it mechanically already. I would like for the outside to look nice and the guy I talk to about doing touch up paint says it needs to be welded with some patches and several spots. When I talk to my welder mechanic he told me you're better off just buying a new body parts well with the rest I'd end up replacing probably the whole car. My general issues are around the wheel wells and at the very bottom of each door. There is a trim that is built into the body work as far as I can see and it's also yellow I'm wondering if I can buy any kind of additional trim to just place over that to hide the rust and possibly some fenders for my wheel wells to cover the rest there as well I would appreciate any input thank you

it seems common for rust to develop at the point where front fender and ground trim meet.
I am developing some my self, but my MC was crashed by a former owner, not sure if hit a deer or not, (very common here) but they skimped on repairs and that lead to rust
The hood had rust spots all over, like chicken pox .... new hood galvanized painted installed was 500 next on the list is my new bumper 450
than back to saving up for motor mods

dont just "cover up" the rust. it will only get worse and worse until the car fails inspection or just plain falls apart. fix it correctly or plan to not have the car long do to safety reasons
