congrats on the monte.i think the 1st gen were the biggest.if your looking for torgue.go with a 454, throw some cams in it with a edelbrock intake and carb should be good..thats my plan is a 454,4speed and a posi or spool,good luck

We have plenty of engines lying around, but I'd like to stay at a 350 for the moment. I have the original one (thats in it) and one just off a fresh rebuild, that I might drop in.
As for a 454, we have all the parts for one, I just don't wanna spend the time piecing it together.

And no, I'm a Junior in high school.

I was actually debating using the 454 block we have with a 396 crank.

We had a 76 & 77 Monte Carlo's. So seeing one from the past is a good thing! Nice ride. Did I say how much I love my 2006 SS
