Default Any suggestions?

Hey folks, see If you guys can help me out, I got a 06 MCSS 5.3 what will be the best exhaust or intake to put on? I'm thinking of a K&N Intake and Cat Back Magnaflow exhaust? Your opinion? Plus anything out there that will make this v8 much faster, wanna be able to hang with the SRT8 chargers out there and new Maros, & Mustangs. Your ideas & opinions would greatly be appreciated thanks.

Yes, I have that CAI on my car and I can say I have gained about 2 miles a gallon on it! I can't really tell you what is the best exhaust for your 5.3, but you may want to do a youtube search to see what different set-ups sound like on there?

exhaust and intake will not give you a large HP boost, but it's a start.

IMO Magnaflows sound like crap - I should know because I have 'em. But your V8 would sound a lot better. But with the DOD, I always wonder how they would sound when a few cylinders are shut down.

Everybody always wants to buy complete systems. I don`t understand this because I know guys who can build you any exhaust you want and it`ll cost a hell of a lot less then a Magnaflow cat-back. Mine is all custom bent 3" stainless - I don't know any company who actually makes that for our Monte's. The tubing, from my work, only cost me about $45 and the guy who bent and welded it charged $200 and 2 cases of beer (beer is significantly more money in Canada). I think between the mufflers, tips and 3" resonator I spent about another $200

Go custom all the way!

Problem is that Idk anyone out here that will do it, but I do appreciate your feedback, I'm just trying to update my v8 from stock to a hell of a beast lol, so I'm hoping I can find something out there to give me mean hp boost like a chip or something

No chips! Never any chips! You wanna program your PCM, but you pretty much gotta know someone to do that too. I gotta travel 60 miles to hook up with my programmer guy, but it seems to be worth it...

Most likely I know someone that will know how to, it's some Asian guy that is owns his own shop, n it's the same guy that's going to install the K&N intake and Magnaflow exhaust
