amp prob
hi guy's my amp on my 01 monte carlo went bad on me. I have replaced the
amp 2 times since then (used amps) and both worked fine when I plugged
them in only to have them quit working after 1 day of use. other than installing
2 bad amps could I have a short causing the amps to go bad? like I said when I installed each amp the stereo worked fine for a day. also the wires going to the amp feel a little warm is this normal?
thanks for any help

warm wires are not normal or good, warm wire indicates they are overloaded.
why kinda of amp or wattage amp are you installing ?
the wire size of the power wire needs to be large enough to handle large wattage amps and the size of and placement of the ground is also important

Just remembered another know issue in Gm's stereos .... there are videos and threads about a connection on passenger side causing stereo failures
there is a split our coupling of wires behind passenger seat, maybe search for info on where to look for that connection
