85 ss not starting

Angry 85 ss not starting

Okay, here lies my problem i bought it for $400 that should give good indication what is in store for me lol.... I have no power to alternator and starter... all the wires were missing what would be my first step?? I've got all the positive connections on them both and for the life of me cant find/trace the IGN wire down can someone please HELP

Greetings!

I think the first thing I would do is find wiring schematics for the entire vehicle. If a lot of hacking has been done to the original wiring I'd buy replacement harnesses and rewire the car. All this is on the pretense that the frame/body are in acceptable or repairable condition.

Without actually being there in person...its near impossible to tell you where and what wires are for what...
X2 on gettn a schematics and or getting a complete new wireing harness.
That way you start fresh without further complications down the road....

thats not too bad for the price. a new front nose piece and front fender and youll be set. any updates on the starting issues

newest update is that it could start if one of the starter bolts is to far stripped out have to change the block cant tapp it anymore almost to the edge and it was the solenoid that shifted had it tested before and no issues but on a good note someone gave me a 305 block for free just got to get it all fixed up and he said that they would do it for free how lucky is that..........on a different note where is a relativity cheap place to get a complete center console?
