7th Genner Newbie Here (Father & Son)
Hello all, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Joe and my son is finishing up the paperwork for a 2006 Monte Carlo LT 3.5L. Hopefully he'll be picking it up in the next few days. Him and I always do ALL of our own work on his cars. He is now 23 and over the last 3 years he wen't from not knowing where the alternator is to being able to tackle most any DIY project. We even swapped out a tranny ourselves. It has been a huge bonding for us wrenching on his cars and something I know he will always carry even after I'm long gone from this planet and that makes me proud.
Anyway, enough of the mushy stuff.
Car has 119k and we don't know any of the maintenance history so we're going to replace all the fluids (PS/Brake Fluid/Coolant, etc.). I'll be posting on what other maintenance recommendations you all recommend on these 7th Gens.
So without further adieu, here is the car. The front windshield is COMPLETELY tinted but that is coming off.

Welcome! Sounds like you two have become a good car team! Great hobby to get into or just knowing how to work on cars in general!
