never really had a car that makes me smile everytime i see her in the driveway or in the parking lot.[/quote]

I know just how you feel - sometimes I'll be looking so intently at my 2007 Monte in a parking lot I walk into other cars!

Welcome to the Monte Carlo forum. My first Monte Carlo love affair was with my uncles 79. It was Black with a red interior, console automatic and bucket seats. Unfortunately they are both RIP. My cousin totaled the 79. They were a Monte Carlo family. My cousin went on to buy a red first gen with black interior, buckets, console and a big block under the hood. He took it to work everyday and one night he came out of work and the car was gone never to be seen again. My uncle had replaced the 79 with a mid eighty s SS. It wasn't long after that he got sick and I don't know what happened to the car.

Welcome to the forum Blake. Nice 78 you got. It is nice to see another Monte on the road, where it belongs, and not in a junk yard.

I can understand the staring and walking into objects. Done it myself too.
