77 Monte Fell in my lap
Hello,
Im a new Monte owner. Im not really a "car guy" but my friend lat me borrow it for the weekend and offered to sell it to me for $550. Because my 88 minivan Johnny's Van litterally exploded. After driving it I became a 16 year old kid again. Blasting music and driving around. I was going to try it out for a few minutes and it turned into 5 hours.
I wouldnt have considered it but it is fun as hell to drive. Someone suggested I get a new kia instead, or a 90 taurus and I laughed and laughed.
Its a 77 Monte 350, 150,000 miles with some major/minor body problems ( grille, interior door handles, rear vinyl)
The only mechainical problems were the wipers ( not a big deal) and a major gas leak, which was just a hose. It was garaged by a mechanic for 15 of 15 of its years.
I need to know what extra things I need to maintain an older car,
and what is the going rate for a running great but ugly Monte. (Its not ugly, just ugly for a Monte)
