Thanks! I'm really glad you're happy with them and I can't wait to get mine installed.

Did they weld everything or use clamps? I'm curious, because I know our stock exhaust is stainless steel and they need to use a certain type of weld so it won't rust. The guy I talked to, who is a friend of the family and is a GM certified mechanic, said he'd use clamps because he doesn't have stainless welding. I guess it would still work OK. Or I can just go get a few quotes from muffler shops. How much did the install cost you?

I paid $145 for mufflers welded on and removal of resonator. I had a shop that next to the resturant i work at install them and they only charged me 1 1/2 hrs of labor. It took them 2 1/2 to do the mufflers cause the exhaust goes in on an angle into the muffler. So they had to make new bends about 6 inches befor the mufflers so they were straight. Then took them a lil less than an hour to remove the resonator.

Cool. That's not bad. I think I might be going with clamps instead of welds. Just a thought that was thrown at me. They're like $9 a piece on SummitRacing.com.

Rick, I have those stainless steel clamps on my 03. They look much nicer than the c clamps. I too bought them from Summit.

Yeah, the ones I'm looking at are butt joint, band clamps. I already have one, I just need 5 more. 4 for mufflers, 2 for tips.

Default 2006 5.3L Monte Carlo SS, Exhaust/Headers

Hello all, i have a 2006 Monte Carlo SS 5.3L V8. it is fairly new just about to get to 30k miles. I was interested in making this BEAST very very loud. i was thinking of getting headers and an exhaust. Money is not a factor but i want to spend under 2k. Can anyone tell me what to get or where i can get it? Thanks!
