Default 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo SS

Hello everyone, my name is Joe. I recently bought a 2004 chevy monte carlo ss. It has some issues but i got it for a steal so i couldn't pass it up. However, I'm starting to see some issues. like when I'm on the freeway and I go over 70 mph it starts to shake a little. When I got my cv axle replaced they didn't mention anything about the suspension or tie rods, or bushings. Does anyone know what it could be

Unfortunately because there are several possible causes, there's no way for us to know for sure. Someone needs to get hands on with it to diagnose in person.

My first GUESS might be tires off balance.

Welcome to the MCForum:
Sometimes if the lug nuts are over-torqued when you apply the brakes the rotors will warp, if this has happened or if someone was riding the brake pedal going down a mountain or hill, they get hot a warp. have your break system checked out!

As Bumpin said, could be a lot of things.
- Bent rim
- wheel out of balance
- I have actually had a worn rotor that was flaking materials cause a balance problem
- Bad ball joint (tie rod, lower ball joint)
- Worn bushings (sway bar, sway bar end link or control arm)
- Worn wheel bearing assembly.
- Something slightly loose (double check the lugs on your wheels, just for safety sake)

It can definitely be a multitude of items. And interesting it is only observed at high speeds at the moment....
