Thanks for the info. I did order a key fob and read about how to program it with the radio.
Interesting way to program the key fob. A good reason to keep the stock radio.

Again, thanks,

Bud

Stock 6 speaker does real well, has the 200 watt stock amp, then I put a pair of 12" Alpine S-Types subs in the trunk, in an enclosure, hooked up to a 1000 watt Kenwood amp, bumps real nice, nuthin' wrong with a stock radio!

Must sound pretty good. I used to work at Carver Corp and we manufactured high end audio equipment. We built receivers, amps preamps, tuners, speaker, etc. We built a 250W RMS power amp made for auto applications that was rated at 20HZ-20KHZ +/- 0.05db. One could set it up for mono/400W or bi amp for separate bass and hi end. It required a 25amp DC 12V fuse. The amp was about 10" X 3" X 5", mostly heat sink.
Most users of two of these in a car have to install a larger battery and at least a 100-150 amp alternator. How do you have yours set up to handle a 1000 W amp? and how do you fuse it? DC power only or DC power and speaker output as well?

Default Amplifier/subs

It really does, very happy with it!

My friend, who I bought the setup from, installed the whole thing, so not real up on specifics, unfortunately. He put a kill switch under the hood, so I can listen without it, if I like, used some very heavy grade power lines. He used a capacitor, visible on the right side in the picture to regulate power, but again not sure of anything with that either. It has a dial in the cabin to set db from +6, +9, +12.

Haven't had any issues with power draw or anything?

Below a pic of the amp, before we put it in.
