Default 2002 Monte Carlo SS

Hi Group,
My 16 yr old just picked up a 2002 Monte Carlo SS. The odometer says 75,000 - Overall it is in good shape no dents or real scratches.. I just purchased new rear lights.
However, I am curious about any kinds of mechanical issues to be on the look out for? Overall the car looks to be in good shape.

Regards,
Ran

Welcome and nice find.

As for issues, I could list some stuff it will *probably* need. But it depends on if you want to be pro-active or reactive. The biggest item I would consider is coolant elbows and upper/lower intake gaskets (easy job to avoid a headache later).

Here is a good thread to look at:

Welcome to the MC Forum, There is always a trend to put in aftermarket radios and if you do don't cut any wires and save the original unit. Chevrolet programs all the stuff through the radio and it works good as long as you don't mess with it.
Fuel pressure regulators will also be something to watch out for. If they haven't been replaced and they go south it could blow the plenum up on the engine

I'll second that one! Easy check to prevent a potentially major issue.

On a similar thread, Id also see if the valve cover gasket recall has been done / if the front is leaking.
