Default 2000 Monte Carlo LS 3.4 L

I have to replace my power steering fluid took me forever to find correct fluid to use stock # changed 3 times since my owners manual was published
correct # as 07/2016 is 89021182 Does any one know how much fluid I will need to drain and fill the system ? I have found several places that tell you how to do it but none that indicate amount of fluid needed

Unless you want genuine GM power steering fluid, you can use power steering fluid from any auto parts store.

As for how much to put in, the system does not hold much, maybe a quart or two. Basically fill a little at a time and keep checking the dip stick. Once full, you well need to run the car and turn the wheel side to side (from one extreme end to the other) to bleed air from the system. You then need to recheck and top off as needed. The fluid may look strange in color after moving air around and may need to sit for a night to look normal again.
