I have a 1978 Monte 305 V8 automatic landau no rust very good condition body wise does, need so machanical work need to know how much it might be worth?

How many owners ? Do you have any records on service, sales, etc. Any accidents ? Repair records. ? What model ?
What are the mechanical Problems ?
How many miles ? Do you have any pictures to post ?
What options ? What color is the exterior > interior ?
It's difficult to give a price on a Monte that's 26 + years old without seeing it & knowing the background.
I hope that you can supply more information.

Have you checked with your local Chevy Dealer to see what they thought of your Monte ?
