I used to ski a lot and I noticed that driving in the snow is a lot like driving a dirt bike when you have a RWD car, you oversteer into theskid and lay off the brakes and accelerator.

In a FWD, you understeer unto the skid and accelerate to straighten the car out.

I know I'm a SOCal but I spend many, many months in the Sierra mountain during ski season.[8D]

Brenden welcome to the MCFs. Lots of great people here.

One thing, we do require you post a picture of your Monte. Don't worry though. The drool we get on our computer screens will not get on your car. Well at least no one's complained about it yet?

Not sure where in MI your city is located? My g/f Debbie is from a small place called Temperence. It's not too far north of Toledo, OH. Like 12 miles or so.

Good luckgetting your driver's license.

Im located right next to flint MI (also by Goodrich and Davison), which is north of temperance, i think i may have been there before.

Welcome Brenden from another Michigan winter driver, as I drive My Intimidator 100mi a day commuting from SW MI to Sturgis 5-6 days a week! I LOVE my tail-draggin' Monte, as I'm an old fart and been driving winters since winters started (seems like). With good all-season tires, the Monte Carlo is THE best winter car I've ever owned, and I've owned a few! Better than the Impala's. Better weight distribution, I think. With the magnesium cross-beam behind the dash, it's one of the safest on the road. also. I've proven that the hard way.
Glad to hear you got a good safe car to start with, just don't get stupid with it. Give yourself lot's of extra braking distance in the winter, as driving in the snow isn't anything more than a controlled slide, most of the time.
Side note: I graduated from Corunna, and my wife from Clio.
