Rain washed out Cup practices and Qualifying at Lowes Motor Speedway on Thursday. Saturday nights lineup will be by owners points now, which puts Jimmie Johnson on the pole for his 250th career start.

Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards brawl in the Lowes Motor Speedway garage area.
Multiple sources are reporting that the two drivers got into a scuffle in the Nationwide Series garage area on Thursday. Witnesses said Edwards was pushed onto the hood of Harvick’s car, and of course the two drivers would not comment on the incident. NASCAR officials said they considered the incident a non-issue.
It is believed that this showdown originated from Kevin calling Carl a “pansy” for riding around in the back of the field for most of the race, until late in the event.
The Charlotte Observer reported that Edwards left a handwritten note for Kevin with is airplane pilot last weekend. The Observer obtained a photo of the note, which said, “Kevin, Thanks for (fking,expletive) me on TV - I was really trying to screw up everyone’s day. Love, Carl.”
