I'm not trying to convert anyone to be a fan of Dale Jr, but I'd like to see him win one for the history of the sport..
I'm not losing any sleep over it 4-Sure...But I really hope he surprises everyone....I like rooting for the underdogs : )

My obivious answer would be No. With the same reasons the others have stated.

But as I thought about it, for every year NASCAR has this chase format, his chances are good. I mean if you think about it. 10 races, if he bulls a Brad K. and Out of the blue wins 3 and goes consistent in the last 10. He would have it. It might take some thought, and we will all say he has been lacking. But if he gets momentum going, Anything can happen with the way they reset the points for the chase. Seems unlikley, but with the chase, You just cant place bets on a definite winner anymore

 

He is the fan favorite driver in NASCAR, but he just does not have what it takes to compete for a championship. Yes, he did make the chase, but just because Brad had a rough night at Richmond. Dale Jr has a few GREAT races throughout the year which is good...it's no consistent enough. On a side note, if Jimmie wins the championship again I will be extremely irritated. I am ready for someone else to win it this year...even if it is Kyle Busch, and I HATE Kyle Busch with a passion. Back to what the thread is about, I would be surprised if Dale Jr even finishes in the top 5 of the chase.
