Default Picks/Watkins Glen/Sun Afternoon

It's time to go twisting and turning around the mountains near Elmira, NY! Congrats to STUMPMI Dave for winning at Pocono last week though! Congrats to Blazed SS for taking back the overall points lead, ANd he took the Segment lead! That guy has some of that early season flare back!

This week could be a good one. Road courses used to be boring, now they're two of the best races on the schedule and people want to see more of it! I know I do! Lets go to Road America, Road Atlanta, and Sebring!

Anywho, here are my picks for the Sunday cup race...

1) Marcos Ambrose
2) Carl Edwards
3) Brad Keselowski

Watch, since I didn't pick Jr he'll end up finishing surprisingly well like he did at Sonoma LOL.

I would absolutely love to see the cup go to Road America. I would even be willing to drop Sonoma in favor of Road America. That is an awesome track IMO and Watkins Glen is probably the only road course I like more.

The Glen tends to feature 3-4 cars battling for the win in the last few laps. Tons of fun to watch.

I agree they should add Road America. But I wouldn't want to drop Sonoma. Sonoma looks like it is pretty good for spectator viewing live, which no other road course is. Maybe one day I'll make the trip to Sonoma.

I have been to Watkins Glen before - it was the only time I've seen Mark Martin win in person. I have not seen Junior win (so close tho!)

I almost forgot that Brent is a Mark Martin/Ford fan at heart! He tries to hide the fact that he owns a Fusion and a Bronco.....

The thing I don't like about Sonoma is qualifying (for the morpst part) determines how you run. There's not near the excitement that you get at Watkins Glen or Road America. I've seen guys really battle their way up the field in ways I just haven't seen at Sonoma. I just enjoy watching those two more.

Sonoma was better back in the mid 90's when they still used that older portion of the track before turn 3? I believe.
