One of these days.... maybe you guys wil read my rundown!!! I said in the Hendrick section that this track, 4 years running now, has been an achilles heel to Johnson in the fall race. He had a bad run here in '08 running with Edwards and lost points, he crashed on lap 12 here in '09, opening up the door to Mark Martin to make a shot at the championship, and his pit crew was fired mid race here last year. This year, a spin out left him with a 14th place finish. Can't say I didn't warn you, Chris

The stats thread had been updated, and can be viewed here:
https://montecarloforum.com/forum/na...tistics-26054/
Interesting stat: How am I the points leader? I have 9 2nd place runs this year, including today... that's over 1/4th of the races. But I only have one points paying win (Bristol in March). I have, however, won a Gatorade Duel and the All-Star open.
If you're interested in number crunching and want some hope...
77GP, you need to make up 70 points in two races. You gained 62 points in Chicagoland and New Hampshire. I found a couple of instances back in May and once in the summer where you gained about 50 points in two weeks. For Chris, I had a harder time finding such stats... don't think I found an instance where he made up much more than 40 points in two weeks on me. Not to say it is out there, i just looked over the thread and checked it out as well as I could before I posted this. It could be done.... but it's almost a race for 2nd for you guys.
After it stayed so tight for so long all year, my consistency finally pulled through about 2 months ago and I have been here for quite a while.... leading the points since we came out of the 2nd Michigan race in August. I entered Bristol night race with the lead, and I haven't looked back yet.
But all this makes me sound like I'm celebrating too ealry.
I don't want ot make promises.. but I'm considering once this is all over and I don't ahve any rundowns to write, I will write a synopsis of eveyrones season, with a little comment for each of you guys. Probably look something like this:
