Intro to Talladega
Well, it is what it is. Talladega is WILD. If your guy has a great car, the best on the track evne, a late race restart could screw it all up.
Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth have had the two dominant cars at these tracks, but as stated... what if they blow an engine, mess up a pit stop, or get screwed over in the draft?
However, some people are just "snake bitten" at these tracks...
And the last reminder... lal this stuff is just based on averages... any of it could be crap.
Chevrolet Drivers
Hendrick
Up until this yea,r Jimmie was the snake bit driver at HEndrick. However, Kasey hasn't finished one of these races all year, and JEff has been having some tough luck too. Dale Jr has been his average self at Talladega... but as I say... George W. Bush was President of the United States last time Jr one one of these deals at Talladega.
Childress
Kevin Harvick is normally really good at these things... but I don't think he has finisehd a restricter plate race better than 40th this year. Burton has done okay and Menard has been there though.
Steart Haas
Newman is one of hte most snake biten drivers ever at restricter plate tracks....
Then the rest of this team.... I do'nt know, Martin looks like he's not even trying and Danica has a better than snowballs chance of winning I guess...
Furniture Row
Kurt Busch has run so well and been 2nd so many times... never won though.
FORD TEAMS
Roush
Ford made na effort here last year, like they always seem to, to knock out a Ford top 2-3 or something. They made a move before a rain delay and made a move at the ned to win the race in the spring....
Edwards has been there a few times... just never the right move. Talladega is his better restricter plate track. The rest of these guys idd okay too.
Penske
Brad K is a guy who will figure out that last minute move to win too... so keep an eye out for him.
The 34 and 38
i think the David Gilliland/David Ragan combo was just a random wild accident more htan it was anything.... Iwouldn't count on it happening again.
TOYOTA TEAMs
They've had reliability issues on every restricter plate track, but Matt Kenseht had the best car in both spring races... just never sealed the deal.
Gibbs
Busch hasn't been great on these things this year... Kenseth has been good, and Hamlin has had bad luck too.
Michael Waltrip
Clint Bowyer is among the best at Talladega... hard to say hwat he will do. Martin Truex or Brian Vickers or even Waltrip could get lucky though.
My Picks
I'll come up with some werid @$$ gimic later...

I'm going to try to do a daily "weird crap that has happened at Talladega" bit....
Today, a recent one... Fall 2011... a hauler catches fire in the infield shortly after the race.
