Intro and Remidners about points for this race
We're going into our 4th season here of MCF Fantasy racing. We start out with the Shootout, a chance to get some momentum and the pride of having won a Daytona race under your belt before the season! Remember, we pick these non points races (Shootout and the Duels) for fun, and for pride. Points will not start until we begin picking for the Daytona 500!!
Thoughts on 2014
I'm not going to break it down team by team, but I will say the Childress cars showed a lot of speed (whether by design or by luck or whatever) in speed weeks. We've got a practically new line up at Stewart Haas, we got the strong as ever Hendrick cars, and the 'Yotas were fast. the Ford's still aren't showing much speed yet, seems to be a hangover from 2013 for them guys, at least on the speed charts.
But we know a wrong turn, a loose wheel, a bad engine, or a car crash in front of you could just ruin your whole night anyway.
That being said, below is an entry list from NASCAR.com, and is the starting order if points are set by 2013 points. Some of htese drivers toward the bottom may not actually enter the race.
Jimmie Johnson
Matt Kenseth
Kevin Harvick
Kyle Busch
Dale Earnhardt, Jr
Jeff Gordon
Joey Logano
Kurt Busch
Ryan Newman
Carl Edwards
Brad Keselowski
Jamie McMurray
Ricky Stenhouse
Marcos Ambrose
Denny Hamlin
Mark Martin
Danica Patrick
Tony Stewart
Terry Labonte

Anyone interested in picking the fastest cars for pole day? Same system, we just pick 3 and roll... no bonus points... 46 points for picking pole sitting, 43-position qualified for every position after that

I'm excited to be picking again. It's been a while. Ima gonna go:
1. 88 Dale Jr.
2. 1 Jamie McMurray
3. 18 Pyle Buschit
That rule about not picking him is gone! And he can be good in these short *****-out dashes. My perception of Pyle hasn't really changed that much.
Is anyone not gonna pick Jr?

We'll have that thread up sometime Sunday I believe... and duels will have a separate thread! :-P
