You do what makes you happy, Brent. Show me where Junior won a road race on any series. Also, show me where 12 previous starts at Sonoma and 12 starts at Watkins Glen, 24 total starts, are all "flukes." You gave him excuses for about 3..... and he was running like crap in all of them anyway as far as I can recall. First time for everything, yet I will stand by my previous statements.

Mark Martin tends to stay away from physically straining races lke short tracks and road courses this year. It is a shame, because until Jeff Gordon came along, Mark Martin was basically the king of the road course races in NASCAR, much unlike Dale Earnhardt Jr.

So 13 years ago, Dale Jr was the best 2nd rate driver on a road course and won the race, in a year he won his 2nd Busch series championship.

Although I did mention Edwards won a Nationwide race... Edwards has a lot more top 5s and top 10s than Junior does in the cup....

Now boys-go to your corners.
I too thought I remembered him winning a road coarse. Who won that Japan (I think) race?

I looked it up Skinner and Rusty Wallace.

I think the one that Skinner won was on the Twin Ring Motegi circuit... it looks a bit like a flat, large, Darlington. I don't think that was a road course. Skinner was so excited he beat Jeff Gordon.

First off, Duane I really appreciate your info before every race as well as pics and stats..

I am by no means a road course fan...kinda like watching pocono etc lol.
Despite your great info.. I have no clue as to who im going to pick. With so much gong on amongst drivers and there performances...I do like martin. If he chooses to race sonoma. Jr has run some 24 hr races. But that doesnt mean hes good at road courses. Maybe...I wil play a long shot hunch...like almirola (now that he has some success) or Regan Smith..(I do have a team uniform for luck) LOL

But I do think Marcos Ambrose will be considered...
Maybe Stewart...The Chase is almost on...But I cant bring myself to consider a toyota driver, like Clint Boyer! (he has road course skills like you said) So, I think I will wait til Practice and Qualifying before I deceide...

Thanks again duane for your excellent pre race info!

I am just glad that people read all of that stuff.

Everyone who thinks I do a great job of this, please tell NASCAR that so they will hire me as an historian at their Hall of Fame. Letters of Recommendation appreciated.
