Points, Intro, and Congratulatory Remarks

We are finally in the last semgent of 2013 on NASCAR Fantasy! Segment 3 is over and after all the points penalties and crazy races, I somehow figured out how to win it and wrestle back the points lead. But the next two races, New Hampshire and Dover, are not good for me.

Congrats to Ricks 2006 SS for winning a big time race in Chicagoland!!!

New Hampshire

New car, new year, new chase... but teh same powers seem to be rising to the top.... that is, the Hendrick and Joe Gibbs gangs. And New Hampshire is like their play ground! But the trick is, no one really has a stranglehold on this place. That makes picking for it a tough proposition. The Hendrick cars are pretty consistent, but that's about it. And even they have off races and off years. Watching practice and qualifying may be very important to this race.


CHEVROLET TEAMS

Hendrick

The cream of the crop here is probably Hendrick. Jeff Gordon has a string of top 10's here, but hasn't won a race at New Hampshire since Bill Clinton was President of the United States.

Jimmie Johnson is really good here too, stringing together a lot of top 10's. But the problem is, this is the race that used to set him off to bad starts in the chase in the laste 2000s.

Kasey Kahne is a hit and miss here. won once last year, but it's just hard to say what he will do. He's crashed a lot of cars this year.

Dale Jr. has had good runs here too. But he has bad luck this year too.

Stewart Haas

Newman might run well here.. heck he's won a couple of times. But he's also inconsistent.

Childress

Burton ran really well here in the spring and felt great about his chances. harvick has good runs here sometimes... plus, Childress has been pretty good lately.

TOYOTA TEAMS

Gibbs

This race might nail the Gibbs cars. Kyle Busch has had a lot of bad luck here. Matt Kenseth isn't great, and his 9th in the spring wasn't particularly impressive. Dennis Hamlin is good here, but so much bad luck this year... hard to pick.

But, these guys are really good right now... could sneak up and win.

Michael Waltrip Racing

Bowyer is great here and good on flat tracks... Truex not so much. But you have to decide if you're willing to pick these cheaters or not...

FORD TEAMS

Penske

The hope for Ford this week probably rides on Brad Keselowski. He's been good here, top 5's nad all. And he is my pick as a driver who missed the chase nad will have a great chase, despite not being in it. It's a trend that holds up well each year.

Joey Logano might have run out of luck... wasn't good at Richmond or Phoenix...

Roush

Edwards has a few stray good runs, Biffle has won here... and Roush has had good runs at New Hampshire, but it's all few and far between. It's hard to gamble on For'ds on an off year rihgtn ow.

This season must be "crazier" that last year.... here are the points going into this New Hampshire race at the same point in time last season. Look how many more points we had!! 181 points more than the current points leader has this year... a lot of that due to points penalties this year and the unpredictability of this current season.

Also, the eventual champion of 2012 was 4th in points, 61 back....
