Ever since they started calling him "concrete Carl" he has like 2 top 10's at Dover.... Aric Almirola is just too inconsistent.

Sad news via my NASCAR History Until 1972 page on Facebook....

Earl Ross, the only Canadian driver to ever win a race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, died Thursday in Canada. He was 73. Ross made 26 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts during his career, running 21 of 30 races during the 1974 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. He scored his only series victory on Sept. 29, 1974 at Martinsville Speedway, leading the final 79 laps and beating Buddy Baker by a full lap to score the victory. He also won the 1974 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Award. Ross was inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2011

I read news about this earlier. The irony is that on Monday, before his passing, I drove to Cayuga Speedway in Ontario to do a photo shoot with the BudChev. The track closed in 2010 but is in good repair. The shot that will be the cover on the 2015 MCF Calendar will likely be the shot with the "Earl Ross Grandstand" in the background. I haven't shared the pic yet, but I did submit it to Chibi. So it was kinda weird to read about his passing 3 days after the shoot...

So being a good sport is only so funny for so long. I've been wearing this Pyle Interstate Batteries hat for 200 laps now - the black magic has seemed to wear off cuz it's only helping the 18. Who would have guessed? I'm throwing it in now and switching to the Nation Guard hat. Everything changes now...
