I did say that didnt I?
Think about it...Why did they lower that C post? any ideas..... Did they think they wouldnt get caught? They were trying to get an advantage of more "rear" downforce . Since they lowered the rear spoilers this year....
(theres less rear downforce)
Which tells me:
Its a real problem for them getting a handle on handleing of the car.....
As an EX racer, (use to race til i lost my left leg)...
At California there gonna need all the rear downforce they can get out of the car...and the more bar they put in the rear the more the front wants to push (plow) thru the corners....Not to mention they changed the spring rates that Nascar now provides every team...that also doesnt enhance the handleing of the cars....
But thats just the tip of the ice berg....
I could tell you a lot more about cause and effects of the changes with these cars they have now......But, It would be like a flood of continious pages of info ... But i wont ..(The mrs is standing on my neck right now to do my honey do's also)....
And everyone else is not trying to get an advantage in this sport..... you're looking for what you can get.
The spoiler change was only for Daytona... everywhere else is like last year.

Agreed everyone is.... However, chad and jimmie got caught.....
Is all im saying So, there definately under NASCARS microscope!
As far as the lower spoilers go.....I believe now its at everytrack...not just Daytona and Taladega....
Its all part of the new package ......
I cant believe they arent haveing more troubles with the EFI systems...
I really didnt feel bad for robbie gordon.....even McClaren couldnt get it straightened out ...

Short spoilers, larger window side spoiler, smaller radiators & the moved grille opening were just for Daytona & Talladega to break up the 2 car tandoms everything else is the same as last year, next year is when things will really change & honestly no ome knows if they were cheating cuz the car nvr hit a template, the offical just didnt like how it looked so no one will really ever know & as far as EFI i wouldnt think they would have any real issues sence this type of system has been around for awhile now
NASCAR did the right thing this time and I applaud John Middlebrook.
Hendrick presented documentation where that same car had passed a NASCAR inspection 4 times last year and had photo documentation to show the C-pillars were there anyway. This is that same car that Chad told Jimmie to crash if it won the race.
As Mike pointed out, the car never went through inspection. An offiical walked by, and somehow apparently that new paint job on the c-pillar caught his eye and he realized it wasn't right. The offiicals looked it over and ordered the pillars removed and for them to be placed in the NASCAR Hauler. Seems like Hendrick flew in some fabricators and c-pillars overnight to fix the car before it ever hit the track for practice.
As far as I am concerned, there was no rule that said you couldn't have it, so why not? NASCAR does have a rule that anything that you run on the track is supposed to be pre-approved, but that's mostly concerning the frame and the structure of the cars. This part of hte car was not in the "claw" that NASCAR inspects with.
Therefore, I feel that the fine should have been pulled back too, and the whole thing was screwed up. However, I think they let the fine sit since it all goes to charity (The NASCAR Foundation) anyway. I think NASCAR did the right thing by telling Chad Knaus to remove the part and do not bring it back again. If they didn't like the part, asking him to fix it before it goes on the track and letting it go is fine as far as I am concerned, they have the right to regulate their sport and that's all well and good. But that should have been the end of it, when they told Knaus to get those parts off the car.
The controversy is that Middlebrook was a GM man, and everyone now is saying NASCAR wants the Chevrolets to succeed more than the others, and GM has NASCAR in its back pocket, but I really just don't think that is true. The appeals board would be more fair if it had a couple of guys from Ford and Dodge on it too, but it doesn't. No matter what you do, someone will call foul or unfair.
I'm learning that more and more each day trying to keep this NASCAR Fantasy running properly. I'm probably goign to get rid of all in rule next week and set it up so you can only pick the same guy twice, so you pick three times and have to have a minimum two different drivers on your team. Just way too much all in and if someone else wnats the same guy, they just can't get him. Putting two guys on the team makes you have to study a little more, but still lets you gamble.
But it's really too late to do anything about this week. Martinsville is another tale though.
