Official 2011 Daytona 500 "MEMBER's Picks"

And he probably will win because NASCAR wants him to win since this is the 10th year since Dale Sr. died. I'm not convinced he can remain focused for 200 laps to do anything though. Can he hit his pit box? Can he not blindly drive into another driver and wreck himself like in '09? Will his equipment hold up?

And your buddy LeTarte will be tested now. They got no time, just the Duel itself, to get the backup car up to speed and ready for the big one. He'll be adjusting on it all day if can Junior survives. But Junior is still the best here (at Daytona). I'm picking him for the Nationwide race too...

Who ever said nascar had to be fair. I'll bet if it was Jimmy they'd make some kind of exception. jk I'll be waiting till after the duels to make my winning picks as well (since I kinda have the bragging rights this week)

2 many rules, or 2 many bad rules
I am having a difficult time this year understanding all the changes going on & I am getting ConFuzed : ), but that happens all the time....I may just drop outa the Race or get throw `out I think Dale Jr really has had some bad luck 4-Sure, but I still think he's a Winner `if he can only catch a break 4-Sure.....
I will make/post my guesses b-4 the start of the Race ~> I think ? Maybe ? Time will `tell

I am not seeing Sam Hornish listed in either Duel, so no He is not in the 500.

Hornish's Nascar career is more or less over. He will racing part time in the Nationwide Series for Penske. He will be in the COPD 300 Saturday. Penske only has 2 Sprint Cup teams now. The 77 is now Steve Wallace for Rusty Wallace Racing, but he did buy the old 77 teams owners points. Robbie Gordon is the third and only other Dodge in the field.
Heavy stuff huh? Pick again Nocturnx

Hmmmm.... it looks to me like the trick to this race is the 2 car teams... which team will win? Kurt Busch won the Shootout with Regan Smith. I wonder how he would do with Keselowski or one of the other Dodges? The Childress guys are doing good... Gordon and Bayne looked good, but I don't feel good about Jeff Gordon because of his restarts... this race will most likely come down to a final restart with a couple of laps to go. Johnson just never had much luck in this thing... so I don't like him for the money. For the 500, give me....
1) Kurt Busch
2) Kevin Harvick
3) Greg Biffle
I took one of each of the really good 2 car tangos.... I figure they'll be side by side, plus you don't know which team will be in the right place at hte right time... so I'm spreading my chips out so to speak.
The racing is more fair than I thought it would be. When they talked abotu the 2 car draft, I figured it owuld be like Talladega with a big pack and 2 car drafts tearing away from it. I love this racing!!!! The fast cars are pulling away like they should... the slower cars fall back. And a big difference I think is that with the pack spread out, we are less likely to have a "big one" so there is less of a chance that our guys will all get torn up in a big wreck that wasn't even close to their fault. I call that there will not be a be a big one, but several smaller accidents.
Number of Cautions: 10
Top 10 Breakdown: A Dodge, 2 Fords, 7 Chevrolets
Last Place: Michael Waltrip.
Maybe it's the racing... maybe it's the excitement of this new fantasy system, but I'm more excited going into Daytona this year than I have been in an awfully long time.
